The
Mediterranean architecture and Italian street names
are no accident: Lido Isle, surrounded by Newport Bay
and accessed by the Via Lido Bridge off Newport Blvd,
was developed in the late 1920s and modeled after the
fashionable Italian resort of the same name. This neighborhood
of 850 homes has attracted a number of famous Hollywood
names, but also fosters a true community spirit, with
parks, beaches and “stradas” (interior sidewalks) that
encourage walking and chatting with neighbors.
